Fred Santarpia, Executive Vice President & Chief Digital Officer, Condé Nast: Fred Santarpia was named Chief Digital Officer of Condé Nast in October 2014, and is responsible for building and executing the company's digital strategy to expand the reach of its brands, strengthen its marketing offerings, and deepen its relationship with consumers across all platforms. In this role, Santarpia has pushed Condé Nast to explore new distribution partners and develop new revenue streams, leading the company’s recent acquisitions of the popular

music editorial property, Pitchfork, the London-based editorial tech company, Poetica, and the launch of a new digital innovation center in Austin, Texas. Previously, Santarpia served as executive vice president and chief digital officer of Condé Nast Entertainment (CNÉ). Under his leadership, CNÉ launched 14 fully distributed video channels based on Condé Nast’s iconic portfolio of brands, in addition to The Scene, a platform dedicated to creating and curating premium digital video content. Prior to joining CNÉ, Santarpia was general manager of VEVO, where he was part of the company’s founding leadership team and served as head of all operations responsible for audience development and video syndication, social media and marketing strategy, revenue operations and VEVO’s original content and programming team. Under his leadership, VEVO was consistently the #1 video property on YouTube in terms of unique viewership. Before VEVO, Santarpia worked for Universal Music Group, where he held a variety of senior level positions during his tenure with the company, most recently as vice president, operations and finance at Global Digital Initiatives/elabs. Santarpia is a graduate of Villanova University and holds an MS from Boston University.

 

Robert Hayes, Executive Vice President, Digital, NBC Entertainment: A recognized digital leader in the entertainment space, Rob Hayes’s career spans two decades of business transformation and industry innovation. As the head of digital at NBC Entertainment, his cross-platform knowledge and deep understanding of community engagement have helped propel the network back into its #1 position. Hayes runs the operations and P&L for all of NBC Entertainment's digital initiatives including broadband, mobile, and VOD. He and his 100+ person team are responsible for overall day-to-day management of digital business development and strategy, product management, technology, data science/analytics, production, editorial, multi-platform content creation, digital marketing, social, creative, e-commerce and merchandizing. Overseeing NBC’s content on Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Instagram, Hayes ensures NBC Entertainment properties – including “This Is Us,” “The Voice,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Saturday Night Live,” and “America’s Got Talent” – enjoy huge success across digital channels as part of the network’s integrated storytelling strategy. In 2016, Hayes won the Lucy Hood Digerati Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which honors individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution to the interactive and digital media communities. He has also received numerous industry awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Program for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well as Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development for Showtime Sports Interactive; iMedia Visionary Marketer of the Year Award; and CTAM and Promax Awards. Prior to NBC, Hayes was the COO of Iconic which launched JayZ's YouTube Channels; Life & Times, and Uno, Dos, Tres. Before that, Hayes made his name at Showtime Networks Inc. where he oversaw the network’s global digital business, developing robust multi-platform identities for such critically acclaimed shows as “Dexter,” “Weeds,” “Nurse Jackie,” “Californication” and “The Tudors.” During his tenure, Showtime enjoyed its greatest growth spurt from 12 million to more than 18 million subscribers.

 

Tom Goodwin is the EVP, Head of Innovation at Zenith Media, his role is to look ahead, understand new technology, behaviors and platforms and ideate and implement solutions for clients that take advantage of the new opportunities these make possible.  An industry provocateur and commentator on the future of marketing and business, he's a columnist for the Guardian, TechCrunch and Forbes and frequent contributor to GQ, Ad Age, Wired, Ad Week, Inc, MediaPost and Digiday. Voted a top 10 voice in Marketing by LinkedIn for the last 2 years, with over 550,000 followers, Tom is “one of 30 people to follow” on Twitter by Business Insider. Tom is the Author of “Digital Darwinism”, a book on the changing business and consumer landscape, published by Kogan Page this Spring.

 

Mike Vorhaus, President, Magid Advisors: Founded the Magid Internet and New Media research and consultation practice in 1995, with AOL and Excite as his first two clients. Mike’s team has completed over 2,500 engagements with over 100 Internet clients. Mike began the Magid Gaming Practice in 2001 with EA and Sony Online as his first two clients. The Magid Game Practice now works with most of the major game publishers. Mike provides research and consulting services to a number of major traditional media companies in regard to their new media initiatives, as well as consulting a number of leading Internet and gaming companies. He has also provided advice to venture capital and private equity firms in regard to investments in the media space. Mike has been involved in strategic and tactical consulting, including the launch of new services and programming, as well as development and implementation of online and offline marketing programs. Mike has also been extensively involved in video and PC gaming strategies for a number of our companies, as well as the development of game concepts. Mike has consulted on a number of film projects such as You’ve Got Mail and The Matrix. He holds a B.S. in psychology and sociology from Wesleyan University and has worked as a fundraiser and transfer of technology officer at the California Institute of Technology and the University of California. Mike also worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, The U.S. Senate, and for two Administrations in the White House.

 

Fred Boxa, Partner & Chief Operating Officer, Meridian Advisory Group (MAG): Fred Boxa leads MAG's Business Consulting Practice, leveraging nearly 20 years of strategic and operational experience consulting to Fortune 500 Media, Technology and Telecommunications clients, including Comcast, Condé Nast, Disney ABC, Meredith/Time Inc., NBCUniversal, Tivo, and T-Mobile.  He focuses on the business implications of technology advances with several areas of specialization, including cross-platform content distribution and monetization, rapid product prototyping and development, technology partnering and negotiations, and content licensing and syndication.  He has extensive experience with both new product and systems development, as well as optimization of existing enterprise systems and capabilities based on evolving technology trends.  In addition to his client responsibilities, Fred also manages MAG’s Finances and Operations.  Prior to MAG, he served in senior strategy roles with IBB Consulting, Gartner and IBM Global Services.  He holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BSFS in International Relations from Georgetown University (magna cum laude).
