G.O. Burton is Senior Vice President, Global Business Development and Distribution for OWNZONES Media Network, where he is responsible for driving B2B and consumer growth, managing sales operations, strategic partnerships and leading distribution of the global portfolio across all platforms. Based in Beverly Hills, he is working with companies such as Amazon, Zoomin.TV, Scripps and MGM. Prior to joining OWNZONES in 2015, G.O. served as Senior Vice President, Global Business and Partnerships at CNK Digital (EPIK Learning), a publisher, developer and distributor of award-winning educational software,

apps and tablets. During his tenure, he effectively increased revenue for all products through expanded retail distribution and helped boost user acquisitions worldwide via new OEM partners, mobile app publishers and influencer networks. Some partners include, but not limited to Walmart, Toys R Us, Warner Bros. and Target. G.O.’s initial foray into the VOD and multi-platform video distribution space began at Ripe Digital Entertainment as VP of Client Services and Advertising Operations.  G.O. managed a national client management team in NYC and Los Angeles. His group worked with companies such as Proctor and Gamble, AXE and Subaru. G.O. received an MFA from Loyola Marymount University as well as a BA in Business Administration from the University of San Diego. G.O. is a big supporter of the Los Angeles Food Bank and in his spare time can be found volunteering there. When he is not playing with his kids, you can find him pursuing his other great passion on various waves around the world: surfing!

 

Luke Edson serves as U.S. CRO of Future plc, the international media group and leading digital publisher including top brands TechRadar and PC Gamer. With a background in commercial operation and business development, Luke has previously worked at Yellow Pages, where he served as the senior vice president of National Markets. Prior to Yellow Pages, Luke worked at Cox Digital Solutions, AOL and Internet Broadcasting. Luke holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

 

Josette Bonte, the Chief Strategy Officer, USC CTM: where she is in charge of industry relations and overseeing the Institute's research programs. Bonte, an industry veteran and expert in digital media and filmed entertainment, spent the first 11 years of her career as a film and television industry executive in Hollywood, and the past 17 years in the fields of telecom, interactive television, broadband content, and online games. Bonte joins the CTM from Cisco where she served as Executive Digital Media Strategist for the Internet Business Solutions Group's Global Media & Entertainment Practice. Prior to Cisco, Bonte was the Vice President of Digital Media at Cookie Jar Entertainment-producers of acclaimed children's TV series, including Arthur, Caillou, Zaboomafoo, The Doodlebops and Johnny Test. She also served as Vice President of Content and IPTV for Ovum, working on IPTV content deployment strategies with service provider clients including AT&T, Verizon, France Telecom, and BT. A telco TV pioneer, in 1994 Bonte joined then US West (now CenturyLink) as Head of Strategic Marketing, Entertainment, and Interactive services, where she participated in the company's early interactive media and video-on-demand trials, soon becoming the company's liaison to the Hollywood entertainment industry for content strategy. In the late 1980s, Josette served as Executive Director of Unifrance Film, where she represented the French motion picture and television industries in Hollywood. She subsequently founded EuroScreen Partners, a film production and distribution company where she served as CEO. Bonte has an M.F.A from the UCLA School of Film and Television, and a Ph.D. in telecommunications and new media from the Sorbonne. She is the author of the best-seller book La Television a la Carte aux Etat-Unis.

 

Robin Wilson, Director, RW TV: As the former VP of Business Development at NAGRA, Robin Wilson’s responsibilities include ensuring that the company’s current and future solutions are developed and applied whenever new opportunities or markets arise. Robin has over 25 years of international broadcast technology experience in companies that include BBC, NBC, RCA, DiviCom, Grass Valley and Modulus Video where he has held various marketing, engineering, management and founding positions. Robin’s technical expertise encompasses compressed video (MPEG-2, MPEG-4), content distribution (satellite, cable, IPTV, OTT,OVP, broadband), content security (DRM, CAS) and user interfaces. He recently had the opportunity to participate in government relations and lobbying on regulatory matters affecting digital TV, OTT and broadband. Robin has participated in and presented at many industry organizations including SMPTE, EBU, IBC, ATIS, and IEEE. He is also a member of NATAS, the group charged with investigating and selecting EMMY award recipients for innovative TV technology, and of the FCC advisory committee on Downloadable Security for US operators (DSTAC). Robin graduated with a BSc. degree in Applied Physics (EE) from Dundee University, Scotland, and holds a watermarking patent. NAGRA is the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) and a pioneer in pay-TV technology. NAGRA solutions include DRM, Conditional Access, Digital Media Security, User Interfaces for Tablets, SmartTVs, Set Top Boxes for operators using MPEG-4, HEVC, Streaming Media, OTT, IPTV, Cable, Satellite, Mobile TV & VOD.

 

Patrick Redmond, Principal, Altman Vilandrie & Company: Patrick is a Principal with AV&Co. in our Boston office, where he has worked since 2007. His areas of expertise include growth strategies, new product development and pricing, and the SMB (small and medium business) segment across the telecom and print and digital media sectors. During recent engagements, Patrick helped clients establish roadmaps for emerging products, develop multi-year strategic plans, and undergo a complete strategic reevaluation. He also provides M&A-related due diligence services to private equity firms and strategic buyers. Sample diligence targets include telecom operators, metro fiber providers, and equipment vendors. Additionally, Patrick has deep functional knowledge of and experience with advanced quantitative research tools and techniques. Prior to joining AV&Co., Patrick was a Vice President with Deutsche Bank. Patrick holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. with High Distinction from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
