ANGELA WILSON GYETVAN, Founder and President, Digital Whisper

Angela specializes in kickstarting new ideas into full-blown industries and repositioning established businesses for growth. Her experience includes executive positions with Electronic Arts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Idealab and Evite. Notable clients include Adaptive Studios, where she was responsible for the strategy and execution behind the launch of Project Greenlight Digital Studios. At Idealab, she was responsible for launching and managing multiple mobile applications, including UberSocial, now the #5 most-followed app on Twitter (13.3M followers) and one of the most popular products in the Apple App Store. She has lectured on digital and social media at both USC and UCLA, and was a member of the transformative Tech 4 Obama digital campaign team in the 2012 election.

 

ESTELLA GABRIEL, Founder of Second Screen, Estella is an award-winning screenwriter, an actress and tech executive.  Touting more than 15 years of experience in the tech space, she has worked as a consultant for companies like Samsung and eBay/PayPal.  In 2015 she was recognized by Showtime as a promising emerging voice in the screenwriting community. Estella is the founder of Second Screen, an app streaming bite-sized sophisticated series for the mobile culture.  We make feature films an experience the mobile generation loves — by repackaging, rebranding and redistributing them. We’re taking really good unseen movies and making them into 10-minute episode series.

 

Alara Ceri, turned her script “Hollywood Positive” into a social media brand @HollywoodPositive.  After spending years in Los Angeles auditioning to no avail, Alara decided to put her creativity into her own hands, making sketches for Instagram, and one liner jokes on twitter. Fast forward a few years later, she’s built her Twitter to over 30,000 followers, and became “verified” (that blue badge) for being “the voice of Hollywood”. She’s also built her Instagram page to over 50,000 followers. Besides this being a platform for cathartic self expression, this is also her calling card, or resume, for new actors and directors she’s had the pleasure of meeting. Find out how she did it, and why it’s important for artists to utilize their social media brand and platform.

 

GHEN LARAYA, Ghen Laraya Long is an experienced international technology and entertainment attorney and the current VP of Technology for the Executive board. She specializes in transactional contracts for the creation, production and distribution of traditional media content over new media platforms. She was most recently the VP of Business and Legal Affairs for Mandalay Digital Group Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Digital Turbine Inc., specializing in B2B mobile applications. She also has a roster of technotainment clients ranging from producers, directors, writers, musicians and actors as well as startups for whom she provides advice and production attorney services, Prior to Mandalay Digital Group, Inc., she was the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Mobile Partnerships for CBS Corporation, International Corporate Counsel for Amp’d Mobile and Business and Legal Affairs Counsel for Tokyopop! Inc.

 

JULIA VERDIN: Veteran filmmaker Julia Verdin is a multi hyphenate – she is known as accomplished producer, award-winning Director and has written a number of screenplays.  She also owns a management company representing some of Hollywood top talent, as well as beeing known for her philanthropy and passion to raise awareness on key social issues. Some of the memorable, acclaimed theatrical releases and top film festival favorites Julia has produced include the recent 2 Jacks, directed by Bernard Rose  and starring Danny Huston, Jack Huston, Sienna Miller, Jacqueline Bisset and Billy Zane; Stander, directed by Bronwen Hughes and starring Thomas Jane, Deborah Unger, Dexter Fletcher and David O’Hara; The Merchant of Venice, directed by Michael Radford, starring Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons and Joseph Fiennes; and Riding The Bullet  based on a Stephen King story, directed by Mick Garris, and starring David Arquette, Jonathan Jackson, Erica Christensen and Barbara Hershey.  Julia’s films have been selected for many major film festivals including Sundance, Toronto, Venice, AFI, Raindance, Vancouver International and London. Her directorial debut, Lost Girls starring Bar Paly, Marisol Nichols and Jamie Harris won several awards including Best Social Impact film at The Culver City Film festival and is used as an educational program on sex trafficking of minors by organizations and communities. Julia is also known as a leading educator in film: her book Success in Films, a guide to developing, funding, producing, and marketing indie films is on many college syllabuses around the world and has helped many filmmakers.  She speaks regularly on film for many organizations including BAFTA, Women In Film, WGA, AFM panels and Story Expo.  Julia is also a top indie film consultant and has helped many filmmakers get their films made.  She has an MA in film from Staffordshire University. Julia received the La Femme 2015 Executive Achievement Award and was honored for her work in film and supporting female filmmakers.  She served as a judge at the 2015 LA Shorts Festival, speaks regularly on film festival panels and supports up and coming filmmakers.  She served on the board of BAFTA LA for 10 years and chaired the film committee and was instrumental in starting up the BAFTA newcomer program and encouraging mentorship of up and coming filmmakers.  Julia is also the founder and director of Artists For Change, a 501c non-profit with a mission of raising awareness on key social issues through film and media and encouraging filmmakers to think about the content that they make and the effect they have on the world. Julia is passionate about raising awareness on key social issues through the powerful medium of film and encourages filmmakers to think about making content that contributes to a better world.   She has an excellent understanding of branding and how to market yourself and your content in an over saturated industry.

 

MICHELLENE DEBONIS. Founder & CEO, Zeste Consulting: Michellene is Chief Executive at Zeste, a brand consultancy she founded in 2015 to partner with established brands, start-ups, and agencies looking for strategic guidance or professional coaching to build their brand and grow their business. In the last 25 years, she has worked in categories as diverse as media & technology, consumer products, fashion, healthcare, education, philanthropy, and financial services. Before launching Zeste, Michellene was a co-founder of UTA Brand Studio, United Talent Agency’s brand strategy and creative consultancy. Between 2012 and 2015 she helped build a client robust portfolio that included Barbie, Fisher-Price, American Girl, Bare Minerals, Oakley, Zantrex, Komen for the Cure, the Oklahoman, the Elizabeth Taylor Trust, and WebMD. In addition to working with major consumer brands, UTA Brand Studio offered brand advisory services to UTA’s clients who were engaged in developing and launching their own products and brands. Today, Michellene works with clients to become more effective in reaching their growth goals—whether that means repositioning their brands, developing a new way to tell their story, naming their company, products or services, or revamping how they go to market. She continues to work directly with clients and also partners with other agencies who are looking to boost their team’s capabilities. As a vocal advocate for public education, Michellene has recently teamed with several school districts in California to help improve their reputations and boost student enrollment through professional branding programs. Michellene received a BA in Political Science from UCLA. She has been a guest lecturer at UCLA, USC, Cal Lutheran, Woodbury University, and Art Center and is a frequent speaker and workshop leader at a variety of industry events.

 

STACY JONES: Founder & CEO of Hollywood Branded: Stacy Jones, the founder of Hollywood Branded, a Los Angeles influencer and entertainment marketing and strategy agency, has over twenty years of leadership experience building global entertainment branding campaigns for top Fortune 500 companies and hundreds of brands. Acknowledged as an expert in the field, she has appeared on CNN and MSNBC; spoken at conferences around the globe from Germany to Beijing; and featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Advertising Age, and other media outlets. She received a BFA in Theater Production & Scenic Design from the University of Arizona.

 

TRICIA LEE: Tricia Lee is an accomplished director from Canada. Her films have won multiple awards, including BLOOD HUNTERS (Audience Choice “Best Feature” Fright night Theater), which premiered in London at Horror Channel’s FrightFest in London, presented in Cannes in 2017 by Frontieres in the Goes to Cannes Marche Screening, and now screening on Hulu. Her feature SILENT RETREAT  won Best Canadian Feature at Toronto After Dark and more recently her short MEETING MOMMY reached the Top 28 on Youtube’s Trending List with over 355,000 views
