Chef Andrea Drummer began her career, first as a youth advocate and anti-drug counselor with organizations like Planned Parenthood. Wanting to transition from non-profit to pursue her passion, she attended Le Cordon Bleu, Los Angeles. With an extreme shift in consciousness Chef Drummer has been a pioneering force in the culinary and cannabis industry, starting her cooperative, Elevation VIP in 2012. A staunch advocate for the legalization of marijuana, Chef Drummer has gained a wealth of knowledge working with local activists and allies while innovating edibles cuisine to access the full properties of the cannabis plant. She has been featured in Marie Claire Magazine, Vogue Online, Pop-Sugar, 60 Second Docs, ATTN and LA Times and was recently named 1 of 10 Top Cannabis Chefs in the Country. Chef Drummer is also the author of Cannabis Cuisine: Bud Pairings of a Born Again Chef.

 

Madison Margolin is a New York/Los Angeles-based journalist on the cannabis beat. She writes for Herb, Merry Jane, LA Weekly, Rolling Stone, Vice, and other publications, on pot policy, science, culture — and yes, also on women's issues and female leadership within the cannabis space.

Katie Labrie, EVP, Civilized Studios: A specialist in content acquisition and development, Katie has distributed thousands of hours of lifestyle programming across broadcast, cable and digital networks. As Vice-President of the independent syndication leader PPI, she worked on dozens of series leading her to pursue the rapidly growing branded entertainment industry. Katie joined Civilized in 2016 as EVP of Civilized Studios with a vision for bringing exceptional branded content opportunities to the cannabis marketplace. She believes strongly in the power of storytelling and the cannabis industry’s ability to shape the future by playing an active role in the cultural narrative through education, engagement and entertainment.

 

Ariel Clark is one of California’s longest-serving and best-respected cannabis business attorneys. When the idea of a cannabis business law was often considered an oxymoron, she dedicated her practice to this emerging industry in 2010—foresight that was recognized in 2017 by Rolling Stone which named her one of 18 “Women Shaping The Culture of Tomorrow.” Founding partner of Clark Neubert LLP, a women-owned and run law firm, exclusively focused on the cannabis industry, represents retailers, growers, manufacturers, investors, and other established and emerging cannabis businesses across California. With offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Santa Cruz, the firm helps clients execute complex political strategies, obtain licenses, set up proper business structures, and interface with local and state officials. Ariel earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She founded and serves as Chair of the Los Angeles Cannabis Task Force, is the attorney to the Cannabis Business Council of Santa Barbara County, and serves on the legal committee of the California Native American Cannabis Association. Ariel is also an active member of the National Cannabis Bar Association, California State Bar and Beverly Hills Bar Association. She serves on the board of California NORML, the policy committee of the California Grower’s Association, and is an active member of the National Cannabis Industry Association and the California Cannabis Industry Association.
