Scott Squires, Oscar nominated, CEO, PIXVANA (former CTO, ILM): Squires is an Oscar nominated Visual Effects Supervisor with more than 30 years of experience in visual effects.  He has worked on numerous high-profile films, including Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Dragonheart, The Mask and Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace. At Lucasfilm Industrial Light and Magic, Scott was the CTO that led the company's transition from analog film to digital production technology.  He won the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Scientific and Engineering Award for Pioneering Work in Film Input Scanning.  Scott also founded Puffin Designs and co-founded Dream Quest Images.

Ryan Pulliam is the co-founder and CMO of Specular Theory, an award-winning immersive media and entertainment company based in Venice Beach, CA that creates premium virtual reality content and experiences using innovative storytelling and proprietary technology. Ryan brings extensive agency and client-side experience in digital marketing and brand strategy. As a next-generation thought leader on digital media strategy and a gatekeeper to large networks in the entertainment, technology and new media sectors, Pulliam is consistently creating opportunities for long-term growth and value from customers, markets and relationships. Pulliam is a published expert in the Seven Pearls of Financial Wisdom, which was named Top Business Book in 2012 by The Library Journal. She is a frequent guest speaker on a number of industry panels including Further Future, TEDx, Singularity University and CES. She is also a member of The Women’s CLUB of Silicon Valley, MaiTai Global and Summit Series. Specular Theory has won numerous awards for its virtual reality and 360 work, including the 2016 Streamy Award Winner for Best VR and 360 Experience for MatPat’s Game Lab in 360 series. The studio has also created the most talked about pieces at the 2015 and 2016 Sundance Film Festivals for their “Perspective VR” original series that ignited a global conversation around empathy and using VR for Good.

 

Johannes Saam, Senior Creative Developer, Framestore: Senior Creative Developer Johannes Saam took an early interest in 3D, teaching himself key skills at a young age. He got his start self-taught then studied at ScanlineVFX in Munich, and after earning a Masters in Computer Animation from Bournemouth University, worked in Visual Effects for 12 years. He has worked on feature films including Legend of the Guardians, Mad Max 4, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and Prometheus. Since joining Framestore, Johannes has worked on a wide variety of projects in emerging technology for high profile partners including Time Inc, BMW, CarFax, Facebook, and Dreamscape. Among his many achievements and honors, Johannes holds a Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his development, prototyping, and promotion of technologies and workflows for deep compositing; six SIGGRAPH showcases; and three Animago Awards. Beyond his numerous awards, Johannes has spoken at a variety of events, most recently SXSW, Digital Hollywood, and GDC.

 

Kalan Ray is the Development Supervisor at Magnopus and co-founder of VKTRY Creative Studios: He is an animator, programmer, and designer whose work has contributed to the Emmy-Nominated interactive experience Mission:ISS, as well as Pixar’s Coco VR, Blade Runner 2049: Memory Lab, Martin Scorsese's The Audition, and an upcoming global VR news platform. An expert in rapid prototyping and previsualization, Kalan has supervised and creatively contributed to development in feature films, television, commercials, music videos, theme park rides, video games, and VR experiences. His film credits include The Jungle Book, Fantastic4, Star Trek: Beyond, at many prestigious visual effects companies, including DreamWorks, Pixomondo, and Bad Robot. A California native, Kalan was born and raised in Barstow, and holds a degree in Linguistics from the University of California at Long Beach.

 

Erik Murphy-Chutorian is the founder and CEO of 8th Wall, building a cross-platform solution for developers to build augmented reality applications on all mobile devices. Erik has deep expertise in computer vision, imaging infrastructure, data analysis and full-stack/mobile product development. Prior to founding 8th Wall, he worked at both Facebook and Google as an engineering manager and senior staff software engineer respectively, leading the initiatives behind a number of key projects on Google Images and Google Photos. Erik holds a PhD in computer vision from the University of California, San Diego and a BA in Engineering Physics from Dartmouth College.

 

Guy Costantini is Vice President of Global Interactive Marketing for Skydance Media, known for high profile blockbusters on cherished franchises like Terminator, Altered Carbon, Mission Impossible, Star Trek and many others. As marketing leader for the Interactive group, he is working on multiple VR titles like the recently released Archangel: Hellfire and the upcoming The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. While diving head first into virtual reality is his current focus, Guy also serves in advisory capacity to a select number of companies, out to change the games space for the better. In his career, he has had the chance to work on several industry-shaping games like The Witcher 3, League of Legends, Marvel: Contest of Champions, Arena of Valor and Gwent. The only thing he loves more than games are his family and bringing amazing games to eager players, which he has had the pleasure to do for hundreds of millions. Before getting into the space, he worked several years in the high-growth tech startup and music industries in New York, but he was not in games and was encouraged to wear suits so instead he quit that and went on to doing what he loves in Southern California.

 

Shelley Andagan Chief Operating Officer & Public Speaker: As COO of 3DPaint/FX, Shelley Andagan directs and manages the company’s worldwide workflow processes and personnel while also coordinating strategic planning and brand alliances. She works with clients to streamline each production from development to delivery. Translating information derived from her direct-to-client interaction, Shelley collaborates with the 3DP team to find the most innovative and expedient solutions possible given production parameters which maintaining high quality standards that are expected in Hollywood.  Proud of their teamwork and opportunity to produce groundbreaking content across genres, Shelley developed and executes the company’s social media strategy while also supporting inclusion of their work in conferences, festivals, and awards competitions across the globe. While at 3DPaint/FX, Shelley managed the completion of nearly 30 VR projects.  These 360 films range from scripted to documentary-style shoots with both monoscopic and stereoscopic deliveries at various levels of VFX integration.  She also oversaw stereoscopic conversion projects for the studio’s VR and traditional film clients.  Some of Shelley’s 360 film credits which derive from her work alongside VR houses Within / Here Be Dragons and Milk VR include: • The New York Times Magazine’s “Great Performers” 9-film noir collection • National Geographic’s “The Protectors” film • USA Network’s “Mr. Robot” VR Experience • General Electric’s 5-plus-episode series, “The Possible” • Samsung VR’s “The Raid” Prequel to Fox’s “24: Legacy” • United Nations films “The Ground Beneath Her” and “My Mother’s Wing” • SHOAH Foundation’s “The Last Goodbye” interactive experience. Drawing from her experiences, Shelley shares her expertise as a guest speaker on the national and regional level at professional conferences and events.  She is also a guest lecturer, educating media professionals of the future.  Her most notable speaking engagements were at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas, Digital Hollywood, and the Los Angeles Post Production Group.   Shelley’s most recent contributions to higher education were at Gnomon School of Visual Effects and Emerson – LA. Prior to this role, Shelley spent over a decade in feature film & television development, production and post-production with major motion picture studios and independent producers alike. Her “flattie” credits include projects such as: • Disney's "Jungle Book" •New Line Cinema's "San Andreas"• Marvel's "Iron Man 3" and “The Runaways” • 20th Century Fox Television's "Prison Break" • "World Trade Center," "Becker" and "Star Trek: Enterprise" at Paramount Pictures. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Television, Radio & Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
